BizBash is a source for ideas, news, and resources for event and meeting professionals. Every month, nearly 225,000 users look to BizBash for venues, event styles, technology, and tools for their next event. Thousands of event professionals attend their in-person events in major cities across the United States and Canada. Many also listen to their monthly podcast, GatherGeeks. Their mission is to empower event professionals with ideas, intelligence and resources to create smarter events.
The BizBash Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was a celebration of the Hall of Fame Honorees and Rising Star Recipients. We were there as a sponsor to help celebrate the honorees and empower other business owners. The BizBash executive committee chose honorees based off their work, accomplishments, and contributions to the industry. Since there is no nomination process, BizBash instead reaches out to advisers for suggestions as well as considering suggestions from BizBash staff. Additionally, criteria includes notable long-term contributions to the event industry, visionary leadership, and a demonstrated passion for the industry.
Honorees range from all over the event industry including planners, designers, and producers. Caterers, academics, and journalists as well as nonprofit organizations, and destination marketing organizations are also considered. BizBash has hosted Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies in NY, LA, Chicago, South Florida, Southern California, Toronto, Boston, and most recently Washington, DC.
Hall of Fame Honorees & Rising Stars Recipients
Hall of Fame Honorees this year include Chairman of Susan Davis International, Susan Davis and President and CEO of Dufour & Co Productions, Philip Dufour. Also, President & CEO of Hanson Productions, Julie Hanson, Former Chief Protocol Officer of the United States, Ambassador Capricia Penavic Marshall. And CEO of Occasions Caterers, Eric Michael and Senior Vice President Gaylord Hotels and Convention Hotel Strategy for Marriott International, Inc., Michael Stengel. Additionally, this year there were two Rising Star Recipients. Head of Marketing Washingtonian, Rebecca McFarland and EnventU.
This event was not only a wonderful celebration, but it was also a great networking opportunity we were proud to support.
